Vacation Bible School (VBS) 2007

Our Wild Ride Through God’s Word was a success. Each evening we had an average of 85 kids that attended.  It was exciting to see them learning more about God and having such a great time. Here is a quick review of our week.

One of the highlights of the evening was the Sing N’ Play which introduced and reviewed the Bible point for the day.  In addition, the kids sang praise songs that got them up and moving and watched a skit that was a lot of fun too.

There were five stations the kids rotated through that repeated the Bible Point in various ways.  In Chadder’s Theater they watched an exciting cliffhanger video segment and explored the Bible verses for the day.  In Chuck Wagon Chow they had great snacks to reinforce the Daily Bible Point.  For example, On Day 4 the kids had Awesome Avalanche Surprises, which reminded them that God is awesome.  Horseplay Games encouraged them to apply what they learned while having lots of fun.  It was hot that week so of course the kids loved the water games.  Each evening had a new drama in Wild Bible Adventure.  This is where they learned Bible Stories such as the Israelites crossing the Jordan River.  The kids even got wet here as they walked across their own “river.”  In Cowpoke Crafts, the children made items that they could take home to remind them of what they learned that evening in VBS.

It sounds like it was a great week doesn’t it?  VBS wouldn’t have happened though without all the support and prayers from our church.  There were so many people involved, many of them behind the scenes.  Thank you to all those that helped make Avalanche Ranch happen.  I can’t list them all but I really appreciate your dedication to serve God by reaching out to the children of our community.

Our Wild Ride Through God’s Word at this year’s Vacation  Bible School has ended; but we pray that this journey in Christ is just beginning with the children that attended Avalanche Ranch.
